The value of the Make Moorhead Home Property Tax Rebate is based upon the assessed property value on January 2 of each of the two years following the date your new home is completed. The exception to this is homes built in 2016 or earlier, in which case, the rebate is calculated based on the assessed property value on January 2 of each of the two years after the building footings of the new home were poured.
The property owner receives the rebate in December of each year of eligibility as calculated below. As you estimate the property market value, a good estimate may be the list price and/or purchase price of the property.

The Make Moorhead Home Property Tax Rebate program includes general property tax only and does NOT
include special assessments, special levies such as the school bond referendum, watershed, or economic development levy. This two-year property tax rebate is available for homes constructed through December 31, 2020.
